Chapter 3: Safety Features
It is always a good idea to keep safety in mind. You need to have some basic items on hand including a fire extinguisher. You need to make sure that the vehicle is safe at all times. This includes the wiring, the items you have inside of it, and any items you have in the cargo unit. Routinely check that all is good to prevent unnecessary risks.
One of the most important safety features to have in place is at least one fire extinguisher. It is a good idea to have several though at different locations. Make sure you mount them securely so that they can’t roll around when you drive the vehicle. It needs to always be in the same place when you reach for them.
Make sure you have at least one smoke detector and one carbon dioxide detector in the van. This will help to ensure you are alerted if there are any such issues and you have time to get out of the vehicle. The batteries in such devices should be changed every six months.
